Samsung is reportedly working on a more affordable Galaxy Fold smartphone, and a new hands-on video of the model was recently leaked online via Slashleaks. The video shows that the future budget foldable smartphone from Samsung will be known as the “Samsung W20” and not Galaxy Fold 2 even though that design-wise, both the devices look identical.
The video
Unfortunately, the video lasts for a mere nine seconds, so none of the fundamental details can be picked up. Only the front and back sides of the devices were shown and they look just like the ones of a regular Samsung Galaxy Fold.
The good news is that, even though it will be a budget model, the new W20 will support 5G technology that is so desirable at the moment, just like the original Galaxy Fold did.
The leak
The leak has 100 percent trust score, and this means that the W20 foldable phone is pretty much confirmed. A clamshell foldable device made by Samsung is more likely to be developed, but the Korean company might not name it Galaxy Fold 2.
The fact that the company is implementing a clamshell design means that the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 won’t be similar with the original Galaxy Fold. It is believed that they might be working on a design that should rival the one of the Motorola RAZR folding phones.
Some say that the Galaxy Fold 2 will feature S Pen support.
Experts believe that the device will be based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset.
