AirPods 3’s Expected Tech Might Be the Best Thing Ever
The recent patent of Apple suggests a system that includes bone conduction transmission to the regular air-based transmission of all of the best wireless earbuds. Even if the awarded patent doesn’t confirm that the tech giant has immediate plans to bring this tech into its next-gen of AirPods or AirPods Pro, it does indicate a hearable device with many audio transmission routes is being now tested.
Such a thing means that in some scenarios, the AirPods could one day transmit signals via your skull’s bones to be received by your eardrums. And all of that to be done even if the pods aren’t inside your ear. This feature would allow you to enjoy music without blocking ambient sound, or maybe let you listen to music underwater. Given that, bone conduction as a main audio transmission source has not taken off, mainly because it doesn’t sound right.
So far, only a few details have been unveiled and leaked about the fate of the upcoming AirPods 3 – compared to next-gen devices like the Apple Watch and iPhone 12 – but we expect the buds to come with signature features from the AirPods Pro, such as customized fit, active noise cancellation, or adaptive sound.
It’d be perfect-timed for the tech giant based in Cupertino to launch the AirPods 3 alongside the iPhone 12 and Watch 6 this fall. Ming-Chi Kuo, a trusted analyst, predicted that the AirPods 3 would be launched in the first half of 2021.
