After the recent rollout of Android 10 on the Nokia 8.1 device, HMD Global wants to release an update for another device from its lineup. The tech giant has released before the Android ten update roadmap for its devices, and Nokia 7.1 is bound to receive the update in the fourth quarter of 2019. The beta builds show that updates for Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 7 Plus will also make their appearance at some point.
An XDA member who goes by the name of hikari_calyx has shared the leaked beta builds of these four devices, and detailed instruction on how you can get them for your phone. These are internal beta builds, which means that we can assume that you might get some bugs if you choose to get it on your phone. We should also mention that you will need an unlocked bootloader in order to run these builds. If you don’t have one, you will encounter some issues when you’re rolling back to the stable channel.
Nokia devices and Android 10 come with some new features ready for their users. Nokia 8.1 issued a changelog, which reveals that the update comes with original gesture navigation, in-depth privacy controls, and a smart reply feature. Phones with this new update will also get a new Focus mode, which is able to block the distracting apps in order to help you concentrate on your work. Nokia also comes with the Family link feature from Google’s Digital Wellbeing, which helps parents set some digital rules for the entire family. Besides the Focus mode, all of the features are also available for the latest update for Nokia 8.1 we are not sure when Android 10 builds will get the open beta channel. The roadmap update showed that the Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus, and Nokia 7 Plus all would get stable updates in the first quarter of 2020.
