In a recent blog post, Infinity Ward has updated players about a known issue in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Some players’ stats were wiped when the latest update rolled out on January 22, and the devs explained how to avoid this issue, adding that they are currently looking for a fix.
The new patch brought a new crossbow weapon, and five new loadout slots – finally pleasing the players. However, these new slots were bugged, and the classes created in those slots have been reset to default after the developers issued a fix. However, there still is an error about which Infinity Ward warns not to press “Yes.”
Here’s more about the stat reset bug and how to avoid it.
Avoid Error Reset – Do Not Press “Yes”!
The new classes created in those slots that have been added with the last patch have only been reset once with this fix.
There’s still one error that cannot be fixed right away, although the devs are working on it, explaining that players shouldn’t press “Yes” when the error in the screengrab above appears:
- If you were presented with the error prompt and did not click “Yes” and closed the game, your stats are still intact. Feel free to play as usual.
- If you did click “Yes” – you most likely noticed your stats in the combat record, leaderboards, custom classes, and Operators were reset. Nothing related to your progression was lost, so your rank, XP, Battle Pass progression, weapon progression, unlocks, purchases, etc., are all still intact.
However, the devs have warned players that once they work on a fix for this error, they might need to roll back the stats before the fix. They also promise to update everyone on the situation and inform players about the reset.
