Perhaps one of the most interesting news in gaming this month is the fact that Diablo 4 is officially in the stage of development`.
There is no official release date yet, but gamers worldwide asked various questions about this subject, and the main question going through their minds is whether Diablo 4 will have cross-play or not.
What is known
Allen Adham, co-founder of Blizzard and executive producer of Diablo 4 spoke about the possibility of implementing a cross-play system in an interview for the Telegraph : “We’re very excited about cross-play,” he said, and then continued: “There are technical details and details to work through with the first parties, but it’s our goal to get to cross-play.”
Sean Murphy, another developer of the game declared in an interview with Venturebeat: “We have nothing to announce with cross-play, but that is a topic that we are interested in.”
According to the comments of the two developers, there isn’t a definitive answer regarding the possibility that Diablo 4 will feature cross-play, but it seems that it’s a target for the team. However, the release of Diablo 4 is far away from today, so plenty of changes and improvements might be added until then.
BlizzCon 2019 met gamers with lots of news about the following installment of the Diablo franchise: it will start as a base game, receive expansions and “will not sell Power”, which is a welcome aspect. Also, it has been announced that there will be no loading screens between levels of dungeons, as the world of Diablo 4 will be “contiguous” by featuring day-night cycles and variable climate.
