Epic Games and Nvidia teamed up and decided to bring some of the best technology to Fortnite.
Nvidia’s recent event brought new mighty graphics cards to the market with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070, RTX 3080, and RTX 3090. The company has also announced its partnership with Epic Games to introduce its tech to the praised free-to-play Battle Royale game.
Fortnite is now considered one of the most popular games, with more than 350 million players globally. It has partnered before with other top companies, such as Disney, Marvel, and the NFL. The recent partnership, however, will bring unique benefits for the game. Nvidia will come with new features to Fortnite, like AI-accelerated frame rates, ray-tracing, and low-latency esports tech. Here is what you need to know.
Fortnite is Set to Receive Some of the Best Features
The news of Epic Games’ partnership with Nvidia has recently emerged. Fortnite will get new features and improvements meant to offer the best gaming experience so far.
Ray-tracing is a rendering process that significantly enhances lighting and shadows. The tech is utilized for the future of video games.
Fortnite will introduce four different ray-tracing features that will improve various aspects of the graphics. Like Cyberpunk 2077, Fortnite will get, too, shadows, global illumination, ray-traced reflections, and ambient occlusion. The ray-tracing features will also bring a higher level of realism to the game’s current look.
Fortnite RTX Trailer Details
There’s a Fortnite RTX trailer, too, that shows a massive difference to the game’s shadows, reflections, and image quality. The trailer reveals some of the best reflections on an astronaut helmet, more colorful character skins, and some incredibly detailed water reflection. We’ll get to experience a whole new perspective of the praised Battle Royale game, thanks to the Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics card.
You can watch the trailer below.
Besides the fantastic ray-tracing features, Fortnite will also get a creative map dubbed RTX Treasure Run. This addition is not the first time Fortnite has teamed up with a tech company to develop a creative map.
Other new features include the new Nvidia Reflex suite (lowers latency based on the GPU), some game optimizations, and Nvidia’s new DLSS 2.0 (improves AI-based real-time rendering).
