Time passes in its lowest rhythm ever in this period for any Grand Theft Auto fan. The fans of the legendary game series never had to wait so much for the release of a sequel. The latest main installment is GTA 5, and it was first released seven years ago for consoles. Two years later, in 2015, the game arrived as a PC version.
While the internet is flooded with endless speculations and rumors about how GTA 6 will be, it’s time to take into account the most reliable information.
Release Date: 2022 or 2023
A lot of people had been hoping to see GTA 6 running on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X as soon as the consoles arrive on the shelves near this year’s Christmas. But it won’t be the case, as Rockstar prepares an enhanced version of GTA 5 coming in 2021 for the two upcoming consoles. This practically means that GTA 6 will arrive after 2021. It’s hard to believe that Rockstar will be busy with two such tremendous projects at a time.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has been speaking via Daily Star on the Triple Click Podcast:
“I will say that I know a lot of people out there, especially a lot of avid GTA fans, probably skewing younger have been upset because I said that GTA 6 was in kinda early development and won’t be out for a few years.
“I think GTA 5 coming out next year to PS5 is evidence of that, [and if that isn’t evidence of a later GTA 6 release] then I don’t know what else is.”
GTA 5 is currently the most successful video game of all time. It has pretty much everything an open-world role-playing title needs: various gameplay options, compelling story, mind-blowing graphics, and so on. GTA 6 has the most difficult mission in the Grand Theft Auto history: to make the fans forget about GTA 5.
