Remember, when owning a phone with a touchscreen used to be unusual and unique? Those were the days! After more than a decade, touchscreen smartphones are everywhere! Technology progressed drastically, and phones are now capable of replacing many devices, from GPS modules and cameras to gaming consoles.
Apple has a tradition for trying (and mostly succeeding) to be superior to its rivals.
iPhones typically have an excellent reputation for camera quality and advanced processors.
The iPhone 12 lineup has a lot to offer in terms of features.
However, the news that the iPhone 12 won’t include a charger is curious.
Apple has some serious reasons for not including earbuds and a charger in the box of its upcoming smartphone.
The news was revealed by the Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who manages Apple’s supply chain.
Though the iPhone 12 will have advanced 5G capabilities, it will cost the same as an iPhone 11.
How was that possible? The removal of the earbuds and charger from the smartphone’s package certainly cut down on some costs, including their value. The decrease in package size meant that Apple could ship more iPhones per pallet than it did with past generations, which decreases the shipping costs.
Many believe that Apple’s choice of removing the earbuds is part of its plan to boost the sales of their famous AirPods, whose price starts at $159, more than six times the $25 earbuds.
Kuo suggested that Apple is ditching the 5W and 18W chargers in favor of a new 20W model.
There will undoubtedly be some backlash caused by the exclusion of a charger for the newest smartphone from users, but we are positive that Apple put some thought into it.
