As we are approaching the release date of the PS5 that is set for late 2020, it’s only normal that the rumor train is continuously accelerating. It’s true that certain rumors are more important than others are, but some of them really should be taken with a grain of salt.
Newest leak
The newest PS5 “leak” that was posted on 4Chan is more of a rumor, exposing some information regarding the PS5 reveal event that is expected to take place in February. The leak was reposted on Reddit, but with the added mention that the PS5 will be unveiled on February 5 at a media event.
The leaker says that the upcoming event will see Sony unveiling the design and technical specifications of the console, some exclusive games, a renewed focus on PlayStation Now and perhaps some details about the pricing of the system.
Reliability
Unfortunately, this “leak” is most likely a hoax. Why? Let’s start from the source: an anonymous poster on 4Chan, unidentifiable by username or anything. Basically they could be anyone. The “leaker” avoids to give out their original source, thus making it even less credible.
Another crucial mistake in the post makes us think that it really is just an overrated aberration: They mentioned that Sony will be revealing more at E3 2020. In case you aren’t up to date, Sony made it clear that they won’t be attending E3 2020, which makes it obvious that the leak isn’t relevant at all. Sorry if you had high hopes.
