PS5 and Xbox Series X Show Their Killer Skills in Action

Observer: System Redux is an intriguing horror game that allows us to explore an exciting and dark cyberpunk future. But with boosted volumetric lighting, 4K texture, HDR, and ray-tracing applied to the game in what seems to be a somehow comprehensive remake, it looks unbelievable. It truly feels like a next-gen game.

Bloober Team, the developer of the game, plans to bring “truly immersive environments” thanks to the next-gen tech. Things like neon light being bounced back to the player’s eyes from sticky pools of blood and puddles of rain reflecting flickering lights in real-time, make the game to reach a deeper level of realism.

Rendering techniques and effects such as global illumination and ray-tracing are totally on point in the video, showing the graphics power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X (10.28 teraflops and 12 teraflops respectively). You can watch the trailer below.

Observer: System Redux is expected to run at 30fps on the next-gen consoles. Such a thing might not be right for racing or action games, but it should be just fine for a slow-paced horror experience.

Regardless of how the PS5 and Xbox Series X’s power is brought to bear, it seems that the next-gen consoles will be capable of some of the most incredible graphics. Now, their arrival is even more expected.
