After several years of marketing its devices as affordable flagship killers, OnePlus has decided to enter the mid-range market for the first time. The first device of the new line is OnePlus Nord, which packs a mighty set of features at a great price tag.
While the price of the device remains a well-kept secret, for now, it is likely that it will stay under $570, 500 euros, or 450 pounds, which is considerably more affordable in comparison to the OnePlus 8 and the even more expensive OnePlus 8 Pro.
While the price tag may be lower, OnePlus remains committed to the idea of delivering the best package possible. The device comes in a beautiful blue color that is enhanced by metallic edging. A generous screen stretches all the way to the edges of the screen for a modern look.
The 6.4-inch panel is large enough to enjoy streams while also being small enough to remain usable with one hand. OnePlus opted for an in-display fingerprint scanner that offers security without being placed in an inconvenient zone of the device. There is no IP certification for waterproofing, but smartphones can face some raindrops without issues.
A beast on the inside
At the heart of the device resides a Snapdragon 765G processor, which includes a built-in 5G modem, making the OnePlus Nord one of the most affordable 5G terminals on the market, which is a great advantage as 5G infrastructure expands at a fast pace.
OnePlus has also been generous with the amount of available RAM as future users will have the option to pick between an 8GB RAM or 12GB RAM version. On the rear, a triple camera array is present, consisting of a 48MP main sensor, a 12MP super-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro lens.
The device is likely to become a bestseller once it arrives on the market.
