Not too long ago, Sony announced that PlayStation 5 would launch during the holiday season of 2020. However, the company did not reveal when precisely would that happen. It might happen before the holiday season, judging on the release date of PS4, which took place in mid-November.
PlayStation 5 To Come Out During The Holiday Season Of 2020
The entertainment company announced that PlayStation 5 would launch by the end of 2020, during the holiday season.
Sony might want to take advantage of the Christmas shopping craze to deliver more PS5 consoles. Also, Xbox Scarlett would launch during the same period, so Sony won’t like getting late in the next-gen consoles’ battle.
A new report suggests that PlayStation 5 would launch during early-December so that the company would get 7-nm custom chipsets from AMD, as the company would deliver both CPU and GPU for PS5.
PlayStation 5 Exact Release Date And Price Reportedly Leaked
A new leak might have revealed the PlayStation 5 exact release date and price. The Slovakian retailer ProGamingShop reported that PS5 would roll out on December 4th. Even more, the retailer also posted the launch price of the PlayStation 5 – 499 USD/EUR.
Interestingly, the first PlayStation launched on December 4th, 1994. Accordingly, it would make sense for the PlayStation 5 next-gen console to come out on the same day as the first-gen console. As for the price, the one mentioned by the Slovakian retailer is in-line with the statement made by a PlayStation developer.
Note that the source that made such claims is not such a reliable one. No official PlayStation 5 exact release date has been announced, so we should take every rumor in this regard with a salt of grain. Nonetheless, paying only $100 more on a PS5 in comparison with the current-gen console is as great as it looks, thinking that PlayStation 5 represents a significant upgrade in comparison with PS4.
