Rumor Has It Diablo 2 Remaster Will Be Released This Year

After the announcement of  Diablo Immortals made in 2008, fans of the series were not pleased with the idea. They haven’t heard of it in quite the time, and the series saw a full game when Blizzard announced Diablo 4 back in November 2019.  We are still waiting for news with regards to the sequel. There’s a new rumor out there which suggests that Blizzard is preparing for a Diablo 2 remaster release this year.

According to some sources, Activision Blizzard has a lot of projects in works, including Diablo 2 Resurrected. This version of the 2000 RPG game will be released in the Q4 of 2020, according to rumors. In these cases, it’s quite normal to see publishers hesitate when it comes to announcing games – they do it a few months before the actual launch.

So when it comes to Diablo 2 Resurrected, Julien Blary, who is the source of these rumors, did not say anything about the expected time frame for an announcement. It’s probable that Blizzard has its plans to reveal the game during Summer Game Fest. They might push the announcement to BlizzCon, which means that we’re getting a release date for the remaster.

It also seems that Activision Blizzard will develop a game to Vicarious Visions, which is a New York-based game developer – they worked on Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Crash Bandicoot.

Take into account that all of these pieces of information come from unofficial sources, which means that we should take them with a pinch of salt. Even if Blary’s previous leaks about Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 were true, it’s possible that Blizzard has plans that are now changed for Diablo 2 Resurrected

The makers of Diablo 2 stated that a remaster would be “very difficult for Blizzard.” So we are not sure how Blizzard wants to work on this remaster, so right now, we are waiting for an official statement.
