The Hey, Speed event held by Apple has been quite impressive, as the company unveiled a new generation of iPhones as well as a series of new MagSafe accessories that complement the new devices.
Hot design and new features
As some sources have anticipated, the new iPhones come with a new design that was inspired by the iPhone 4 and 5. One of the key changes is represented by the use of a transparent ceramic shield on the front that will make the display more resistant. 5G is also present across the entire line.
Many fans of small form-factors were surprised when Apple showcased the iPhone 12 Mini, which comes with a 5.4-inch panel. Screen and battery sizes are the only difference between the Mini and the standard iPhone 12 version. Both devices come with a dual-camera array.
Bigger and smaller
The iPhone 12 Pro Max steals the crown as the largest smartphone designed by Apple, as it comes with a 6.7-inch display. Pro and Pro Max versions of the iPhone 12 come with a triple-camera array on the rear as well as a LiDAR sensor that should offer additional augmented reality features and faster auto-focus.
A new HomePod Mini was also revealed, and it comes with a round shape design. It also features touch controls, full Siri integration, and it is available in two color versions (space grey and white). Fans can pre-order it from October 16, and it has a $99 price tag.
MagSafe is making a comeback as a wireless charging option for the iPhone 12 and other Apple accessories. At the same time, Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 12 models won’t ship with a charging adapter or earphones in the box, but the accessories can be purchased separately. However, a USB-C to Lightning cable will be included.
