Sony has unveiled recently a special edition PS4 Pro based on The Last of Us Part 2 and other branded peripherals, too. Releasing alongside the game next month, on June 19, the collection – it features a theme inspired by Ellie’s new sleeve tattoo – will arrive with a PS4 Pro with a controller, a wireless headset, and a Seagate 2TB. Here are the latest details about Sony’s special edition and what else we should expect.
The Last of Us Part 2 Will Be Released As a Special Edition For PS4 Pro
The PS4 Pro special edition based on The Last of Us Part 2 will arrive with a copy of the game, a code to redeem digital content and a controller. It will hit the markets with a price tag of $399.99. The controller, however, will be sold separately for $64,99. The headset, which has a sleek design with a red and classy black finish, will arrive with a price tag of $99.99. Finally, the Seagate Game Drive (slightly less understated) will be available for $89.99.
Naughty Dog art director John Sweeney stated that the choice to theme the console after Ellie’s sleeve tattoo was solely based on fan reaction to the design. He also explained: “I worked with our graphic designer at the time, Angel Garcia, and we considered a few different ideas, but we kept returning to Ellie’s tattoo.” Sweeney said that he was surprised to find out how well did the fans embrace Ellie’s new tattoo.
Now, Ellie’s sleeve tattoo has become a symbol of the game and for the community. Sony will release The Last of Us Part 2 special edition for PS4 Pro this summer, on June 19. In the US, Boulevard Brewing Co. has developed a branded six-packs of Space Camper Cosmic IPA. The company announced that will offer 10 of the PS4 Pro bundles alongside the specially branded six-packs.
