Electronic Arts is still silent regarding The Sims 5, the next installment in the popular franchise. While we know that there will be a fifth title in the series, we only rely on rumors and leaks regarding the upcoming The Sims 5. As for The Sims 5 release date, we might have some news.
The Sims 5 Release Date Depends Mostly On The Sims 4’s Roadmap
Each installment in The Sims series got lots of expansion packs, game modes, and content during its life cycle. The Sims 4, for its part, is expected to have 12 expansion packs. At the moment, the game received only seven expansions, eight game packs, and 15 content additions.
Also, The Sims 5 release date might depend on the launch of next-gen consoles. Even though we have no official information that The Sims 5 would roll out on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett, that’s more likely to happen.
And since the next-gen consoles would come out in December 2020, Electronic Arts might indeed launch The Sims 5 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett.
The Sims 5 Gameplay and an Open-World Feature
Some of the features from older The Sims titles rolled out to the new releases, as well. That’s why many rumors say that The Sims 5 would sport some of the features already introduced in previous installments in the series.
Besides, many rumors say that The Sims 5 would feature an open-world environment. With the new technological advancements that improved the world of gaming, too, that would not be impossible to happen.
Many fans of The Sims series expected that Electronic Arts would announce The Sims 5 this year, in 2019. But we’re already in October, and the company revealed nothing on the upcoming title in the franchise. Most likely, The Sims 5 announcement would take place in 2020, while The Sims 5 release date could happen in 2021, after the release of the next-gen consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett.
