Sony has officially confirmed the name of the following PlayStation. Unsurprisingly, it is named PlayStation 5. However, the company revealed nothing about the successor of the DualShock 4. They did explain some features of the new controller, though.
Unfortunately for them, their recent moves, including the launch of a new PlayStation controller and a DualShock 4 accessory might have unintentionally revealed some of the secrets of the DualShock 5.
A creative and skilled gamer and designer put together a render of the upcoming DualShock controller, and it is simply amazing!
Apart from the improved haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, the DualShock 5 could pack extra features! The video shows a roster of extra buttons on the back of the controller, which can be user-customizable, similar to the newly launched add-on for the DualShock 4 controller that places some extra buttons on the back.
The upcoming controller might feature an embedded microphone for advanced voice control. It is believed that the PS5 will feature a game-oriented voice assistant that might be of great use to gamers in real-time.
One thing is sure – the new controller will look mostly like a DualShock 4 controller, and a recent leak said that it would be compatible with both the PS5 and the PS4, so we expect to see them look very similar.
The new controller will likely prove to be more ergonomic than the DualShock 4.
