World of Warcraft: Shadowlands News: Trailer, Gameplay, Collector’s Edition, and More

The well-known heroes of World of Warcraft have gone to other realities and worlds, experienced many challenges, faced off against gods, and much more. 

Blizzard Entertainment has continued the war between the Alliance and Horde for 16 long and tremendous years, with no signs of ceasing the fight. Now, the Azeroth warriors are traveling to the Shadowlands, known as the world of the dead. 

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will be here soon, with whole new areas to explore and a new terrible enemy. The game studio is also using the expansion to bring new sleek raids and dungeons, new intriguing gameplay systems, unique character customization features, and much more. Here is what you need to know.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Officially Released Trailer

In the officially released trailer, Blizzard Entertainment shows Sylvanas Windrunner, the former Warchief of the Horde, fighting with the Lich King. She wins, taking his crown and destroying it. Such a move tears a crack in the world above Icecrown Citadel, described as a portal into the Shadowlands.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Announced Gameplay

As the main gameplay addition of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, developers introduced the system Covenants. The system lets us align ourselves with one of the ruling empires: Necrolord, Kyrian, Night Fae, or Venthyr. 

After choosing a covenant, we’ll receive two unique skills: one class-specific skill and one general ability. We’ll also get access to the Covenant Soulbinds. These characters are connected to a covenant that will tie their souls to our character, unlocking various skill trees. 

Furthermore, the skill trees come with new abilities and bonuses, adding new movement and combat abilities. 

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands and the Collector’s Edition

Similar to previous expansions, if you’re really a fan of the World of Warcraft, you can purchase the Collector’s Edition of Shadowlands. It’ll cost you $119.99, and you can pre-order your from Amazon, Best Buy, or GameStop. 

The Collector’s Edition includes:

  • a key unlocking the digital World of Warcraft: Shadowlands soundtrack;
  • four beautiful pins with the symbols of all four Covenants; 
  • a sleek mousepad depicting the shattered sky above Icecrown Citadel;
  • an Art of the Shadowlands. 

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands’ Arrival Details

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands was initially announced to arrive on Mac and PC on October 27. However, the developers have delayed the game to “later this year” to get the expansion in the greatest shape possible. 

World of Warcraft players can enjoy the Shadowlands pre-patch, available on October 13. The update will come with many of the expansion’s essential features, such as a new player experience on Exile’s Reach, a revamped character leveling, and a host of new character customization features.
